NMC Ethics Compliance

Last updated: May 11, 2026

1. Doctor Verification

All doctors on the Clinvo Health platform are verified registered medical practitioners before their profiles are made visible to patients.

Verification includes:

  • Confirmation of registration with the Medical Council of India (MCI) or the relevant State Medical Council.
  • Cross-referencing the registration number against publicly available council records.
  • Verification of primary qualification (MBBS, BDS, or equivalent) and any declared postgraduate qualifications.

Doctors with expired, suspended, or cancelled registrations are removed from the platform immediately upon identification or notification from any council.

2. NMC Regulatory Compliance

The platform operates in accordance with:

  • NMC Professional Conduct Regulations 2023: governing ethical obligations of registered medical practitioners.
  • Telemedicine Practice Guidelines 2020 (MoHFW/NMC): governing the conduct of telemedicine consultations.
  • Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations 2002 (as amended): to the extent they remain in effect.

Clinvo does not permit conduct on the platform that would violate these regulations, including but not limited to: unqualified practice, solicitation of patients through prohibited means, and non-consensual data sharing.

3. Fee Transparency

Consultation fees are set independently by each doctor or clinic. Clinvo does not set, cap, or mandate fee levels.

The applicable consultation fee is displayed clearly on the booking screen before the patient confirms and pays. There are no hidden charges added by Clinvo to the consultation fee.

Clinvo charges clinics a platform subscription fee (B2B SaaS). This fee is not passed on to patients as a surcharge on individual consultations.

4. Patient Rights

Clinvo Health upholds the following patient rights in accordance with Indian healthcare law and NMC regulations:

Right to Medical Records: Patients have the right to access their health records maintained on the platform at any time through the patient portal, at no charge.

Right to a Second Opinion: The platform does not restrict patients from consulting multiple doctors. Nothing in the booking or consultation flow discourages seeking a second opinion.

Right to Informed Consent: Patients must provide informed consent before any procedure, investigation, or treatment plan. Consent must be documented in the clinical record. For telemedicine, consent is recorded electronically before the session begins.

Right to Confidentiality: Patient health information is not disclosed to any third party without the patient's explicit consent, except as required by law.

5. Advertising & Doctor Profiles

Doctor profiles on Clinvo Health display only verified, factual information:

  • Name and qualifications (as registered with MCI/State Medical Council).
  • Declared specialisation(s).
  • Years of experience.
  • Consultation fee.
  • Patient ratings (aggregate, based on post-consultation feedback).

Clinvo does not permit doctors to:

  • Claim superiority over other practitioners.
  • Guarantee treatment outcomes.
  • Make promotional claims that are not grounded in verifiable qualifications or outcomes data.

This is in accordance with NMC Professional Conduct Regulations 2023, which prohibit self-promotion that misleads patients.

6. Complaints Against a Doctor

If you believe a doctor on this platform has behaved unethically, provided substandard care, or violated professional conduct regulations, you have the right to file a formal complaint with:

State Medical Council: File with the State Medical Council where the doctor is registered. Contact details are available on the respective State Medical Council's website.

National Medical Commission (NMC): For complaints requiring NMC-level escalation, visit nmc.org.in and follow the grievance redressal process.

Clinvo will cooperate fully with any council investigation and may suspend a doctor's account pending the outcome of a formal investigation.

7. Complaints About the Platform

For complaints about the Clinvo platform itself, including billing disputes, data privacy concerns, or platform conduct, contact us:

Email: [email protected] Response time: We acknowledge all complaints within 1 business day and resolve them within 2 business days.

For data privacy grievances under the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDPA), our Data Protection Officer can be reached at [email protected].
